The RB73 Quaruba range is handmade in Holland using high-quality 3mm Corten steel — a specialist weathering steel designed to naturally develop its own protective rust-coloured patina over time.

This creates the beautiful warm industrial finish RB73 fireplaces are known for, while also providing exceptional durability and longevity in the British climate.

Unlike cheaper imported alternatives, RB73 fireplaces are genuine premium outdoor heating products engineered to last for years.

Corten Steel Weathering Process

RB73 outdoor fireplaces are available either pre-rusted or supplied in their natural unfinished steel state.

Delivered Un-Rusted

If supplied in unfinished steel, the weathering process will occur naturally once exposed to the elements. Typically, the protective rust-coloured patina develops over approximately 3 to 4 months.

During the first season or two, we recommend placing the fireplace on a removable or protected surface, as some natural residue or runoff may stain surrounding flooring during the weathering process.

Delivered Pre-Rusted

Pre-rusted models have already undergone the weathering process during manufacturing, creating the established Corten finish before delivery.

As with all Corten steel products, we still recommend placing the unit on a removable or protected surface during the initial period of use to prevent any natural residue transferring onto surrounding surfaces.
